So at the first NeoNebulous they had a 3v3, and tournaments with matches for more than 4 players have been something I've been excited about since I first heard about 8 player smash. I'm including a link here for anyone interested: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-vQf5rVyPXA-9Du0i_l95_OA2CLDAAcp

What I found interesting about the tournament, however, was that the matches were time instead of stock. In one of the videos, one of the commentators says something along the lines of "If we did stock, the possibility of one person being out and then the whole game going to the other team very quickly is very high".

That makes sense to me, and I enjoyed watching the matches, in part because I'm used to doing For Glory Team Smash as of late. But what do you guys think? Who here has gone to or organized a 3v3 or 4v4 tournament yet? Would time matches sound appealing to you and would it keep things as fair as possible? If not, why?

Sure I could still watch, and any form of 3v3 or 4v4 would be exciting and mix things up a little, give us something to watch. But I believe that if it is between two even teams, stock still makes for a more exciting match and the possibility of unexpected comeback stories from the team that gets a person knocked out first. I can definitely see the case for timed if it were like say, 2v2v2 or 2v2v2v2, but as long as it is TWO even teams, I prefer stock.
