Looks like the device is very capable of running the game well. Smash Run really looks like tons of fun. Can't wait to check it out. Looks like it could make for some insane battles.

I'm glad it runs well; frame drops / FPS lag is one of the best ways to make a game fail. Think of the last time your game was experiencing FPS lag. How frustrating was it when it lasted longer than one second?

Virtually every game on a system is thoroughly tested to ensure it will run to spec 99.9% of the time. It's possible the game might lag when 10 smart bombs are going off in a 4 player online match, or something similar, but that type of thing is brief and avoidable.

Can't really see any stages that are good for competitive use other than Battlefield and Final Destination. I really want to try out the custom character moves and the Smash Run.

Thanks for putting this together! Very cool. Will definitely be helpful trying to analyze all the 3ds footage we got from the direct.

Soooooooooo, looking over the footage (somewhatbutnotreally) carefully, I have deduced (noticed) the following:

  • The bridge in Gerudo Valley can be broken by players
  • Jungle Japes still has Cranky's silhouette
  • The Balloon Fight stage loops on the left and right sides, thus making it one of the first few stages requiring players to be KO'ed above and below the stage
  • Smash Run has a "combined" world not too unlike Subspace Emissary's "combined" world, only each area is connected to each other (a la Metroid)
  • Smash Run uses very Subspace Emissary-like doors
  • There are many different battle types in Smash Run
  • Enemies are from various Nintendo franchises as well as Subspace Emissary, but you knew that already
  • Outfitted abilities in Smash Run seem to come in quite a range, with "warp" and "horizon beam" being two such examples
Hopefully someone else more competent is analyzing the combined footage and finding more juicy details.

Thanks for finding this, btw!
