3rd Party Trophies?

Hey, there's a question that's been burning in my mind. Is Dr. Wright 3rd party? I'm pretty sure he's with Maxis (correct me if I'm wrong). If this is the case, then are 3rd party assist trophies possible? How about normal trophies?

I apologize if this has been discussed already. I used "Search" but could not come up with anything...
