All my controllers are really rough and some of them are broken, so I'm ordering a new n64 controller tonight. Obviously the 1st party controllers are all used on Ebay, I'm ok with that as long as the stick is in good condition. Does anyone have any experience with 3rd party controllers such as CE or Sumo? Do they work with USB controller converters?

Thankzzzz

Ew Sumo. My buddy bought a Sumo N64 controller because of degrading joysticks on the real ones. It's fine for Mario Kart or Goldeneye or whatever...

But it suuucks for Smash. The right "hook" of the controller is shortened so it fills less of your hand. The joystick is weird, loose yet springy in a way the 1st part controllers are not. The triggers also feel slightly different, but that's to be expected and is my smallest qualm with it. It's playable, but you definitely won't play your best.

Haven't tried CE 3rd parties.

I'll test the Sumo and get back to you.
