Smash 3DS 3DS pictures of characters; is Sakurai listening to feedback?

Before a lot of people were saying that Villager/Wii Fit Trainer/Olimar might not be on the 3DS because there were no pictures. Now for the past 3 character announcements, we haven't had a character go without a 3DS picture. And the pic of the day comments showing the first 3DS pictures always mention it's the first 3DS picture of that character.

Is it intentional? Maybe they listened to the feedback and realized players were confused?

I assume he does. I guess that's the same reason why he revealed Toon Link so early (besides promotion for Wind Waker HD) because of the confusion regarding the Spirit Tracks stage. There were indeed many players thinking there would be character exclusives just because Wii Fit Trainer, Villager and Olimar didn't show up in any screenshots in the 3DS version (despite that they were advertised for both versions). Even though I don't own a Wii U, I've heard most of these confusions where mentioned around on Miiverse too and since Sakurai and his team do occasionally have a look around on Miiverse, I'd assume they most likely did caught wind of it.

I think it was intentional. I didn't know why people were thinking there would be exclusives in the first place though. I thought that in an interview a long time ago, he said that he wanted the same roster for both, because it makes it easier for the person to choose which game.

He actually confirmed that multiple times. But yet people kept believing in exclusives just because Wii Fit Trainer, Villager and Olimar had no 3DS pics. Guess he went the extra mile and decided to spell it out for everyone now.

Sakurai probably did it become the dev team is probably working on the 3DS models and whatnot specifically right now. I imagine they started with the Wii U models and content, and then went to Smash 3DS, and then, they're gonna add a crap ton of content, a few more things here and there (incomplete stages, incomplete characters, items and item related stuff, data like trophies, online stuff), and then patching and fixing crap up.

Basically, development seems a LLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG way from being over for either game, especially Smash 3DS.

I wouldn't say that development seems a long ways away... most signs indicate a release before summer. Brawl's dojo wasn't up for a full year before the game released either

Brawl's Dojo launched right after the reveal trailer. It then got shut down about 14 months after its' launch, and a week later, it was re-branded and remade with the daily updates.

So if we're going off the Brawl model exactly, we can expect about say a February to November release (Japan in late February to anytime in March, the Americas in April/May, and Australia and Europe in September/October/November).
