Hey everyone quick question, So obviously you may connect your 3DS to the wii u for smashing but is that tournament legal? Are you allowed to use a 3DS as your controller for tournaments? Just curious if its allowed or not.

Depends on the specific tournament. Most should allow 3DS controllers, I think. Just be sure to check the tournament rules.

Every tournament I've ever seen allowed it. I even saw someone at CEO using that setup. I wouldn't go as far to call it a "standard" but if that's how you want to play, you should be fine.
