Thought you'd all like a look at some footage from the 3DS, here's all the videos I could find, add more to the thread and let's discuss what we see!

It looks great, I don't think that controls will be a problem for me, but they will take some getting used to. My main worry is that it will be too small on my 3ds because i don't have an XL

The visuals of the game actually looked really good, I suppose Nintendo's previous recordings were simply horrible. The 3DS XL was also somehow being streamed on a large TV so hopefully we get some kind of option like that. Also they were playing on a 3DS XL I believe.

I don't know what people are talking about with the 3ds version being on par with Brawl. It looks faster to me.

This game looks amazing. On the Smash Run video, 3 minutes in, there is a flying robot shooting blue projectiles at you. What is that?

Someone in another thread mentioned they have footage of Prism Tower, anyone seen that?

Edit: FOUND IT!

Capps, what are your thoughts on how the 3ds version looks so far? You've been putting up the videos, but I have yet to hear your opinions.

I'll give some initial thoughts.

It looks like we're getting smaller stages that kinda goes with the smaller screen. This could be very good for us, as I'm already seeing the Wii U stages and they're HUGE. This may actually make our game a tad faster as we'll be able to kill easier. All good things. The game itself might even just be a tad faster for us do to all of this, we may really have a better game for certain things.

Stages will depend a lot on how we feel and how connecting works both locally and online. If it's good, we could definitely be a little more liberal on things and have some more stages.

Tortimer's Island could maybe work, it depends on how the edges work. I haven't seen anyone grabbing onto anything in the videos. The dock looks like it could be, so even if the other side isn't we had Frigate legal with a missing ledge, and the stage is very tame either way.

Reset Forest is a mixed bag, it all depends on if we can abuse how odd that second transformation is. I think the first one would work just fine for competitive play, even with the hole in the middle. Just don't pick Ness :p

Prism Tower and Arena Ferox look a ok for legal. All of the others really have some exploitative possibilities or have crazy strong hazards.

Smash Run while not something I'm personally going to use a lot looks like it'll be seriously interesting. The items and equiping them for other fights will be something we have to consider for competitive purposes, it may be very difficult to implement but since we can pre store things on the 3DS it might not be impossible either. Only time will tell.

I definitely agree that the Wii U stages are huge. Perhaps the barriers are much larger, which is why players constantly live to high percentages. As for the 3ds, the only stages that I have interest in so far are Reset Bomb Forest, Arena Ferox, Prism Tower, and Tortimer Island.

Have you thought about updating the OP with more videos? If it becomes too much, you could probably put them in a spoiler to save space.

If you haven't already, try watching some of these videos directly from your 3DS. The images are even smaller, and worse in quality than the actual game will be, so if you can manage to track the action even adequately, it should be fine to play.
