I know im not crazy, but when playing smash 3DS with three of my friends (all physical game), it was just after teh 1st patch was released, one of my friends who was kirby afterwards he had 1024 speed, and i just recently learned you cant go over 1000, i know that was the stat, but i am going crazy trying to figure out why it was that way, it also happened occasionally with other stats (all of the times was after the first update, before the second). I am really confused and need to know what happened and I though you guys might know.

**Edit** I forgot to mention this but we always play random character, no customizations or miis, no exceptions

thats the weird thing, we don't do customization to the point of not even opening up that option.
I'm no computer genius... yet (:p)... but 1024?

Either it's a coincidence or possibly an error with the stat's value. You know how 1024 bytes is a kilobyte, right? That's my theory.

Maybe, but I have no idea, with the size of smashboards active members I though I might encounter at least one other person who encountered the same thing outside of my group.

You might be surprised. I've seen plenty of glitch threads, and although most have proof, not many people other than the OP experience them. I suppose that's kinda a good thing since the game essentially has almost no issues.

Well its good that glitches are rare to the point where very few people experience the same issue. Its just that I am going crazy over one glitch all because it is so impossible, yet it happened.

Well, it probably won't happen again, right? Have you played Smas Run since?

I have one supposition. Perhaps when you pick up a stat boost, the game's code asks, "is there enough room for this one? If yes, add it; else, set the stat to 1000." The problem occurred when your pal somehow hit two stat boosts on exactly the same refresh, so each boost asked "Is there enough room for this?" and both were told yes and added, accidentally skipping over the 1000 limit.

I've never seen the game's code so this is just a guess. Presumably if the error was that simple, it's something more people would have noticed and was probably patched.

Edit - Now that I visualize this, it's probably not what happened, since the processor still only does one calculation at a time... hm.
