Howdy guys,

this is pretty much a thread dedicated to the 3DS exclusive game mode, Smash Run. Meaning if you missed, or couldn't watch the Direct for some reason, you can find information here.

What is Smash Run?
Smash Run was a game mode revealed at the Super Smash Bros. direct on 4/8/14. It is a game mode that will be exclusively for the 3DS, meaning it will not be on the Wii U. In this game mode, you're given a time limit of five minutes to explore a dungeon-like environment whilst defeating enemies from the Subspace Emissary, and other Nintendo series, collecting items, breaking targets, and more. When the time limit has expired, you can then use the power ups you have collected in a winner-takes-all battle. Sakurai said these types of battles would lead to a quick decision, making it useful for fast-paced battles if need be. It was actually influenced by City Trial, a Kirby: Air Ride mode, another game Sakurai created.

List of power-ups

The following items can be found by defeating enemies, breaking targets, opening chests, and completing miniature missions within Smash Run. Each power-up has its own use, and will give the player advantages depending on how many power-ups collected during the coming battle.

Speed - Increases dashing speed; may also increase walking and air speed. Power-up resembles a green boot.
Jump - Increases jump height, increases falling speed. Power-up resembles a yellow wing.
Attack - Increases normal attack power. Power-up resembles an orange boxing glove.
Special - Increases special attack power. Power-up resembles a red shaped starburst.
Arms - Increases strength of projectiles, item attacks, and throws. Power-up resembles a purple sledge-hammer.
Defense - Increases defense. Makes it more difficult to launch characters, may also result in flinch resistance. Power-up resembles a blue shield.

Known Smash Run Enemies

This is a list of enemies that seem to appear in Smash Run. The enemies will come from the Subspace Emissary (the adventure-mode in Smash Bros. Brawl), and from other Nintendo series.

Conclusion
As this is all the information that has currently been released about Smash Run, I'll be sure to update this thread with any new information I find. Smash Run will be up to four players, though it's unknown if this is a Nintendo Network only feature, or can be done locally. To conclude this thread, I think Smash Run looks awesome, and I can't wait to try it! The 3DS version of Smash Bros. 4 will be released this Summer, while Wii U is planned to be released this Winter. Below are more pictures from the 3DS exclusive game mode, Smash Run, if you're interested.

Thanks for reading!

Though I'm not sure we need another Smash Run thread, the OP on this one far outstrips previous attempts.

If it were up to me, we'd have a stickied "official" Smash Run thread by now.
