Smash Ace
I'm planning to acquire 40 ft of one of these cables so that my wii can finally have a virtually lagless (wired) connection. I've mentioned this a small number of times, but my Wii is in the basement on one end of the house, and the wireless router I have on the floor above on the OTHER side of the house that's infested with cordless phones.
But I'm a hardware n00b so I have many questions.
If I do 40 ft of USB, i found i'm going to be taking many 10' cable extensions and attaching them all together, one end will go in the Wii the other, the Lan Adaptor. $3.99 each, 4 of them, 16$..

Longer the connection the more the lag, but I do want it to be as lagless as I can get it given the 40ft gap. Question is, which will have a quicker speeds?
Should I run 40 ft of USB 2.0 or 40ft of cat-5?
also what's the difference between this cross-over and straight network cable?
New Question regarding cat5e cables. (Asked on Oct 4, 2009)
I just found out in my weekly flyers that some place is selling cat5e 50' ethernet cable for just $10! It's 350MHz. Is that a good frequency for using this on the wii?

On that notice, has anyone got a Rocketfish Lan adaptor? If so, would you be as so kind to share a few words on your thoughts about this product? quality, price, etc.
