Hey all, I've got three questions I think we should discuss answers for:

1. How many items are going to be in the final version of Brawl?
2. Will they bring back items from Melee and 64 like the Home Run Bat, beam sword, etc?
and 3:
Why haven't they announced any new/unique items for Brawl, and which ones from other Nintendo games would u like to see in Brawl? (such as the thunderbolt from Mario Kart)

The second is a confirmed yes.

Ok, done.
If somehow you didn't notice, Sakurai is ONLY showingus new/unique items for brawl. Hes showing old items casually in other updates not focused on them. Take a look at ALL of the item updates and try to find on that was in a previous smash game in the same form.

Okay, I see some of the old items, but where the heck is the beam Sword? (i love imitating Star Wars in Melee using the sword)
Or the Super/Poison Mushroom?

They probably won't get an update for themselves, but rather be confirmed through some other update, much like how the bunny hood (and, if you'd like to think, the Super/Poision mushrooms ) was confirmed from the "Special Brawl" update.
Be patient.

Go to Image> Adjustments> Hue\Saturation.
You can also go to Image> Adjustments> Black & White, then activate the tint option.
