Sorry if this has already been posted, I had a quick check and nothing showed on this, so either I suck at searching or no one noticed yet. If it has then just lock this.

In the how to play Japanese brawl commercial at about 3:41 you see the characters Link, Ike...AND ZELDA?? Her icon vanishes and is replaced by an alloy's. Thoughts?

My guess is that it means that normal characters might appear as enemies in MMB, that's my conclusion

Okay, I have managed to snag a pic of it, and I can't tell whether it's another human (elimination on Co-op?) CPU (on your team) or a CPU on the Alloy's team.

My theory is you can have up to four people, but just like in Melee, if you die you are eliminated, and of course there can be as many alloys that will fit on the screen, so it would take that spot of the character who just died. I would assume it can be either CPU or human just like in VS Mode. You can also probably have to 3 other members on your team not just up to 2.

It's a CPU, you can tell by looking at her icon (the Triforce next to her picture). It's grey, CPU characters have a grey icon. Still it's weird how her icon just disappears and gets replaced by an Alloy's meter.
Perhaps the game screwed up and spawned Zelda instead of an alloy there. :p

Maybe there is a new feature were you can summon a random charecter to help you while you fight, but once they die, your on your own again (Unless your on teams)

Am I the only one that made the only logical assumption that it's just characters helping the CPU? and that this by no means say anything about P3 or P4 in MMB?

Well, we already saw screenshots with 5 Alloys and 2 humans, and since the Zelda icon is where the 5th Alloy was, she's probably a cpu. And that means there probably can't be 3 players, because then 5 Alloy don't have enough room.

Nice find btw, I didn't notice this.

Mabye they just still got to work out a few glitches, and weren't expecting us to look at evey single detail of every single frame of a video.

That would be some messed up glitch lol. We have to remember that Sakurai's doing his best to keep info under wraps 'till it all comes on the Japanese release, so I'm pretty sure it was intended for that to be shown. Or it could be another MINDGAME!

Always keep in mind, that they showed the "Sonic" logo to our faces , and we didn't notice. Thats a great reason to analyze any and every frame of everything.

I think the game just spawns playable characters to help it randomly.

I'm pretty sure that the enemy team just occasionally gets a PC in addition to all the alloys. It's made clear that she's an enemy by the fact that Ike and Link are the only ones not on the Angelic platforms, and the only ones who can make a KO, and therefore who could have KOd Zelda.

And the Sonic logo thing was a fake.

The counter in the upper left corner goes up in the video, so it's possible that roster characters can randomly appear in Endless/Cruel Brawl modes only. Or they could appear in all modes. Who knows?

It seems pretty clear to me. To make 2P MMB harder, they decided to add non-alloy characters. 1P mode will probably be similar to Melee.

my guess is that a mysterious character comes each time, every so many kills, like sometimes itll be zelda, mario or someone else.... it makes logical sense, and if it was a human, it would show a color at the bottom, but it shows grey-ish area instead, which is computer. ;)

My guess is that multi-man supports 4 allies against 4 allloys, but for every ally that dies, a hostile alloy appears. For example, Link, Ike, and Zelda against 4 alloys. Zelda dies and it becomes Link and Ike against 5 alloys.

PCs appearing as opponents is unlikely. Why would the mode be dedicated to the alloys then?

There are 4 sorts of alloys.. maybe they didn't want 2 of the same sort on the field.. so the fifth one is a character..?^^
