3.6 Launcher Help (PMLauncher --> Gecko)

My brawl disc has a read error over the initial files that have to be read to boot the game so for 3.5 i accidentally yet successfully got it to work by moving the brawl minus launcher over to it but i forgot how i did it. Can someone either show me how to do this or link me to a download with a modified launcher so i can play please? I'd greatly appreciate it.

• Install GeckoOS to your SD card (download link, copy the boot.elf from /Gecko1931/HBC/Gecko1931/ to your SD card root)
• Load GeckoOS via the Stage Builder
• Go to "Loader Config"
• Set SD Cheats to On, and change "Hooktype" to AXNextFrame
• Save your settings
• Return to GeckoOS main menu
• Boot game

Just for clarity. I'm taking the boot elf and placing it the root of my SD card with PM on it then booting like pm but instead of the PM launcher loading the GECKO OS will load instead allowing me to play. Also, would i have to do this every time a new version comes out or not?
