Smash 3DS 2v2 for Glory with Friends?

Is it possible to sign up with a local friend to play as your teammate for For Glory?
Or can it only be done by "Playing with Friends"?

You cant do for glory with friends in any way.

That.. Is horrible, they better implement a way for 2 local players to join in and fight other local players. Like, a true team vs team play with stats.
