After raiding through the Marth guides and thinking about a term to search for (both with no positive outcome), I decided to post a new thread about this...

Well, I main Sheik for a couple of years now, but I play Marth almost as long as Sheik now... well, playing against a friend some time ago, he used a move I've never seen before, though, and I have no idea on how he did that... (netiher did he, but he managed to pull it off once again after that).
He started the combo with the generic Forward+B 4 Slash combo, but he only used the first two or thee of these. The slash after that one was replaced by a multiple slash combo with about 3 slashes (can't quite remember exactly) with a duration of about a second.

Though it wasn't that one of a great or useful attack, I'd still like to know how it's possible to pull it off, just for the sake of knowing it... thx in advance.

Wow, I just had some time to try it out, and I realized that Marth is capable of two attacks I didn't even know about... (well, I don't think many people play with the full 4-slash forward-b combo, do they...?)

Anyway, are there other attacks like down-b and up-b to finish this combo?

Hit one: Forward B only
Hit two: Up B or forward B
Hit three: Up B, down B, forward B
Hit four: Up B, down B, forward B

I think that about sums up all the different moves you can do with marth's forward B.

I have a question about this. Ive known for a long time that foward B has three possible foward B moves, but do the middle buttons matter? (for example If I do FB,FB,FB,DB will it be the same final attack as FB,FB,UB,DB) same goes for the 3rd hit.

no matter what you press, the outcome will be the same... if u finish with Up-B, Forward-B, or down-b, it doesnt matter what you did before, the last hit will always be the one you chose to perform...

also, i figured this might help a couple ppl... the 3rd swipe, (the blue one) can be a meteor spike if you perform the down-b.... (the one where he slams his blade downward at an angle)...

and you mentioned that this isnt used very often? well not really but the dancing blade does have uses... like if u use the normal forward-b to try and disrupt someone, but they sheild, u can continue the combo quickly to wear the shield down...

oh that reminds me, there is a special timing for each of the swipes... the first two (red and green), you can press in quick succession and they will work, but for the third one (blue), you have to wait a few frames then use it, and the last one (red) has a large window of time

sorry, i was going to elaborate, but i g2g, ummm there is a guide around here somewhere devoted completely to the dancing blade and everything you can do with it... maybe if i have more time later ill come back and post a link

To do that I just hold Forward-B for the first two strikes the Down-B for the third and forth
