So I stumbled across something interesting today, and I want to see what people have to say about it:
I discovered a nuance a long time ago that when Falcon runs off of platforms and quickly air-dodges back at a complete horizontal angle, he'll land relatively faster than other characters, if timed right. And just cuz I was feeling open to new thoughts, I wondered how quickly that waveland-thingy could be executed. That is, exactly how soon can Falcon land from this? After about five minutes I managed to land very quickly, almost like a legit waveland; I probed at another idea... Since Falcon will land on platforms almost immediately if at a specific height, what would happen if I took away the analog and just air-dodged?
My sneaking suspicion proved correct: Falcon can stick a waveland onto platforms without any analog angles.
Taking it a step further, I tried it on the ground--same result. Also, when adding a complete horizontal angle on the control stick, he can perform perfect wavelands if timed properly. On both regular ground and platforms.
=========
I don't know if this has been discovered or anything yet--I also don't know if it works with other characters--but just thought I'd share anyhow.
^-^
EDIT:
I can't seem to produce these wavelands on the ground right after an initial jump, though. (From what would be considered the start of a wavedash.)
