Smash Ace
So, lately, in order to improve my play while avoiding using Mega Man as a crutch, I've been randoming in For Glory. I focused more on using a character's whole move set rather than relying on first-order optimal strategies like projectile walls and abusing rolling that a good player is capable of beating easily. Here are a few things I've learned.
- I suck a lot more than I thought I did.
- I'm usually lucky to take a stock.
- Closing out stocks is, in general, really hard. Opponent's average percent when they die is easily above 160%.
- I like Dark Pit a lot more than I thought I would.
- I hate Ike a lot more than I ever did before.
- People have no idea how to deal with a DHD or Samus that doesn't spam.
- I quite often appear very salty if I lose really badly one game and random gives me Little Mac or the character they just used.
- Every once in a while, the opponent realizes what I'm doing, and begins an hours long random train while we play whoever comes up. These matches are glorious and the most fun I've had online.
- Marth > Lucina
- And, the big one, I've improved so much after just one week, and look forward to getting strong as I continue with this experiment!
