I don't know if I have a favorite Pokemon for each region catalogued in my head, but Flygon and Tropius are some other favorite Pokemon that happen to be from Hoenn!

Yeeet!! Those two are both really cool too! I LOVE Flygon, I can't believe I forgot him! Ironically I think Hoenn is my least favorite region but some of my most favorite Pokemon come from it LOL

I know, right?! All the Pokemon are so cool, but the regions themselves are just meh. Like, if the region was as cool as Kanto or Johto but had the same Pokemon as Hoenn, they would be my favorite games without a doubt! Most of my favorite Pokemon also come from Unova, which had some of the best Pokemon ever, but the region was pretty meh.

Yes!! I think just the theme of Hoenn made it a bit tedious to navigate, like all of the water? LOL It makes it different from other regions so that's neat, but it's still not as fun to explore imo. Unova is pretty cool too! I like how modern it felt, and some of my favorites come from there too like Swoobat. But Johto has to be my favorite region, I'm not sure why since Johto is the only region I haven't played through, but there's not a single Pokemon from it that I dislike, at worst I'm neutral, and just the region I found really nice. It might also be because of Colosseum/XD because they both had a lot of Johto Pokemon though LOL

I think Johto is overall a solid region! There's nothing offensively bad about it, all of the Pokemon are at the very worst decent, the towns and landmarks are interesting enough to draw your intrigue, and the story isn't so bad that it makes you completely forget it exists! It's just solid, no real low points in exchange for some slightly mediocre ones! It's just what you would want to see from a sequel! For an analogy, Bad is just improving off of Thriller without really drastically changing the way it works, and Johto is just improving off of Kanto without really drastically changing the way it works. I don't feel like Johto needed to do anything over the top to be good, anyway!

As for Hoenn, I somewhat agree. The game's pacing was weird because of all the water and diving and surfing and flying, it got tiresome after a while. But it wasn't offensively bad! The worst offender of bad region design is Sinnoh, though! There's mud that slows you down, there's fog that makes it hard to see, and there's snow that slows you down AND makes it hard to see! Who thought that was a good idea? Who thought making the region aggravating to explore was fun for the players? Hey at least Sinnoh brought us the best started trio tho
