Also, part of my most recent post really did want to answer this one question: is people practicing since launch date = less roll spammers I've seen online? I've only gotten Smash around 2014-2015 so I assume people have had way more time to practice compared to me.

It's likely not even the case that players are getting better, it's likely that the playerbase as a whole is, as more casual players (Who likely won't have even learned the fundamentals.) move on to other games, it'll leave behind basically people who want to get better and people who already are.
