Hey Oz, outside of Sm4sh, what do you do?

nothing
oh, wait. What ever do you mean. o:

Like, are you currently studying, or working or...

"nothing", so to speak. Huh, it gets harder to answer that, as I get older...I was never afraid of judgement like I am not- at least, not conciously. :3

I doubt I'm in any position to judge, but I won't pry.
Also, I'm having a bit of trouble connecting Fair strings or combos. Maybe my opponent just DIs really well?

If they're DI'ing, then that means that they're getting away, rather than interrupting the actual combo. I've had that issue, but it's more of a matter of knowing extact-ish percentages. as a rule o thumb, they start connecting at around 30. If you can't reach for another F-air and they're too high, go for U-air.

Do you use that ledge trap where you reverse Fsmash at the ledge and cover all options?
D
Deleted member 189823
Not really, no. Like, it's effective, but they're not always going to ledge roll. Not only that, but while it does cover every ledge option, the hits are rather meaningless and also leave you exposed, if they catch on to it.

I have to work on my ledge trap game in general. I ocassionally bait ledge getups/attacks so I can fade-out F-Smash it. I fail most at catching ledge jumps, which should be a B-air, U-air or even a well-time F-Smash (if Training Mode serves)

I like to get them on tenterhooks as to what I'm going to do next when I'm guarding the ledge. My favorite (if highly inconsistent) feeling is the 2-frame punish Fsmash.

I think the most optimal thing to do is either to ledge trump or wait for a get-up option. 2-frames are bound to be inconsistent. But when you trump, you can land a TIPPER (garanteed, with good timing), and even if you don't, the fact that you remove their invincibility allows for a garanteed TIPPER once you're on stage.

Oz, how do you deal with being forced offstage a lot because of, say, Shiek or anyone of a similar calibre?
D
Deleted member 189823
Sheik's sort of supposed to do that. I don't panic, really. In fact, I endorse it, lots of times. xd

I meant, for example, a friend of mine plays a solid Samus and is especially good at keeping me of the stage. Any suggestions?

Show me a replay or something, not sure how that would go about.

Eh, I don't have any on hand currently.
Oh and BTW, you were completely right. Fair is beautiful.

How.

Did you actually beat 'em hard with it, or failed miserably and got wacked for it for trying each time.

I started incorporating more of it into the gameplay, and started pulling fair to utilt or other aerials combo. It's really fast and has a beautiful angle. So yeah.
Also most people shield a lot against me because of IP, so free grabs.Heyoooh.

We have a lot of setups from it. It's never really a one-hit, if you know your combos. Like, every one F-air or N-air should at least lead to 14% or so damage. Even at high-percents, there's still combos until actual kill-percents.
