It's honestly my scrub mentality talking. I was much more of a scrub when Luigi was the way he was, so perhaps it's my mind overblowing it. He was just a pick and up an win kind of character, but really only at lower levels of play, where it doesn't really matter anyway.

I was never a competitive Brawl player, I got into the series competitively with Project M, which is honestly to my own detriment. I am used to patches fixing things that people complain about, I guess. Something to work on.

The best part of it all is that I never lost a set to a Luigi pre-patch. I think it may be the echo chamber I've been a part of getting to me as well. Perhaps I should take a break from the thread.

I apologize for my salt.

No I'm not mad or calling it a bad mentality I just wanna know more about it, y'know? I'm not really accusatory like that, honest! It's just I never see it anywhere but on here from multiple people and I just wanna know where it stems from.

Well I think it was just how easy and effective Luigi was. His simple gameplan seemed to shut out a bunch of characters, even good ones. If he had continued on, anyone could pull him out and counter say, Pikachu or Fox, or Mario. It would create a very flimsy counterpick-centered meta or simply make a bunch more characters unviable.

On top of that, Luigi had more stuff to develop, but all he needed was fireball to grab and down throw combos. That's how I see Cloud atm. He's a force using only his basics. Imagine a more developed Cloud. He will remain relevant and threatening for a long time to come.

I see. It's pretty hard to say Cloud is different but my only solace is that his mistakes offstage are a lot more detrimental to him I guess? Dunno, we'll have to see. I think I understand it a bit better now even if I don't agree with it fully lol.

I don't agree fully either but this is how I understand this issue with Luigi. With Cloud we at lest have the benefit of no more patches, so he will help weed out the bad players and those that remain will have to adapt. No more whining in hopes daddy Sakurai will fix it.
