Oh, is SMT x FE failing? It's for the better. I never want a game to fail, and I hate the idea of experimentation being punished... But at the same time, I think developers need to understand there are consequences for their actions.

Nothing about SMT x FE was ever okay. Some people were looking forward to it, and there's nothing wrong with that, but I don't think even the concept was doing either series justice. Even past that, the delivery does neither fan base justice. It's not Fire Emblem and it's not SMT, so what is even the point.

That announcement trailer from years ago was certainly misleading, should have been announced as a collaboration between IS and Atlus or something instead. I read the game barely sold over 20k copies in its opening week, and given its main audience is Japan, I can't say its future is looking much better here.

Every new detail about it just pulled me away further from ever wanting to try it out, I think my breaking point was the special summoning two idols to perform.
