I'm not allowed to get into the specifics of this, I'm afraid. It is a thing with other games, a lot of work being done in the Mario Kart 8 modding community especially.

As much as I'd love to do demonstration videos with downloads on how to do this, Nintendo has been cracking down on people involved with Wii U modding in particular, and many are at a very high legal risk with some channels being taken down. One of my hack showcase vids already got a strike associated to it with the threat of it being nuked off Youtube.
