I's pretty vague because I'm just looking for the start (the first thing beeing "Does Smash really need a new/improved rating&ranking system?". Because of this there's no math to add yet.

So, any ideas? You are the creator of the actual system, do you feel it's good enough as it is, or maybe you could improve it if some random college study published a new formula that takes specific information from this type of games?

I'm not the creator of the system. As far as improvement goes, I say any system regardless of where it's applied has some area where it can improve. Are you looking to actually talk to the creator of the software used?

That could be useful, but I'm not trying to create any software (yet). What I would like to study is the maths behind the rankings, things like how many points it gives in regional, national or international tournaments, see if retrieving more data about the matches could make the scoring better and how...
I don't know if I'm explaining myself. Maybe I should do some work alone before getting the community involved
