Character wise, I'd have to say Luke for sure! Although I really liked to use Luke, Guy and Jade in battles.

For me, Jade is definitely my fav character in Abyss. In battle, I like to use Jade and Tear

Eeeh, Tear never clicked for me. I mean she did in the beginning, but later on when you needed to be on top of healing I just found it boring. ya know?

I feel ya. I switched to Guy near the end and stuck with him in my subsequent playthroughs. Maybe I'll take another run through Abyss. Currently, I'm replaying Phantasia on the GBA

Guy was so fun to play as too! He was the ol' demon fang and sword rain dose i needed from time to time. Aah, I loved Phantasia!I remember having a really hard time with it when I was a lot younger. But I got it at a young age, so I just didn't know what I was really doing. I should replay through it again

I've only completed Phantasia one, I missed a few things the first time (some of Arche's and Claus' magic , Suzu and the legendary equipment). I still need to finish Innocence on the DS, but I can't really get into it

Suzu is the only semi easy thing to come across. Although in all honesty you probably won't find all of those things without a guide of some sort. Although most of Arche's magic is easy to find since it's just on bookshelves and the same room as you find the summon spirits.
