Game and Watch is a fundamentally good character that just needs one of either more weight or better KO options (that KO at lower percents).

I agree with this. For the most part I'd list his matchups around even, though a lot are slight losses because of his issues killing. When it comes time to kill you walk a razor's edge with landing the kill move or getting killed yourself.

Honestly a few buffs in the right places could make him a very viable character (I can go into detail if you want).

What I would list as essential buffs are a slight damage increase on FAir (up to 13% or so), a SHAC aerial (probably NAir like in Brawl but FAir/BAir may be okay), tightening jab's transition to rapid jab, and a slight lag reduction on Oil Panic's collection (it's often impractical at high levels because of how open it leaves him).

Some other buffs would be damage/knockback increases on his smashes (they're hardly strong enough for their speed and FSmash/DSmash's sweet/sourspot mechanics). Return FSmash's lingering hitbox, possibly increase USmash's hitbox size a bit, and possibly reduce all smash attack startup time.

DAir could also use a slight damage increase and possibly a larger meteor window (or just return the slowfall from Brawl but I doubt that's happening). It'd be nice if UAir/NAir linked better but I don't think it's essential. Possible landing lag reductions for most aerials. Have UTilt hit grounded foes better (larger front hitbox?).

I guess most of my issues with him come from how unsafe his air game is against grounded opponents. This isn't uncommon in this game but it's still frustrating. I am aware that his lingering hitboxes could make him too strong if his aerials were overturned though. And his slow smashes.

I think the devs are hesitant to buff his kill power because of how powerful Oil Panic and Judge are in FFAs.

That's pretty cool info, do you use Villager more though?

I'm pretty sure I use Game & Watch more than Villager despite knowing that Villager is easily the better character. Some of that comes from character loyalty and familiarity (I've used Game & Watch in every game since Melee though he has changed each time) and some of it comes from a lack of confidence in my Villager, though I have been complimented on both my characters.

Truth be told, though, I probably don't use either of them enough. I use a LOT of characters, which lessens character specific skill. My best three are probably Game & Watch, Villager and ROB. I also use Dedede, Mewtwo, Ganon, Little Mac, and Jigglypuff often (though I can't say how serious my Jigglypuff is).

I would like to get better with Ludwig, Diddy, Ike, Gunner, Ness, and Toon Link, possibly Peach and Wario. I'll also use Bowser, Falcon, Dr. Mario, Falco, Meta Knight, Pac-Man, Palutena, Samus, Ryu, WFT, and Zelda on occasion (I'm reading this from an alphabetized list, can you tell?).
