Monado art activation also cancels dash animation btw. Wasn't patched out. It's in the Shulk AT thread m8

I knew that. All those dash>utilt kills. Lol. Haven't checked the AT thread in a while though. I guess I can see it, when someone completely internalizes the timing they will be able to fully use the monado. I hope Sakurai leaves Shulk alone... I'd be sad if he patched any of his tech.

I've been mostly tinkering with Shulk's hitboxes and how to manipulate them with jump art. Although jump art's mid-range options are mostly empty hops, falling n-airs, and grabs, I feel like we're misusing the art. Y'know, I feel like we should maximize our hitboxes with jump art.

Sorry, I just started playing around in training mode. Getting the lower hit of FAir to send them behind you is interesting. The issue with jump is that to fully utilize it as an approach you're limited to your standard Nair/FAir/empty hop jump ins. Your ground speed is nerfed too much to abuse his ground moves. What're you thinking about his hitboxes?

Welp. I should've been asleep by now, but I started messing with Shulk because arts. Have you looked into using the slide from jump as an approach/spacing tool? If you empty hop at full speed, you get a slide that can lead to sliding tilts/jabs. Slide in with utilt to get your utilt>fair combo stuff in jump mode or stop your slide with ftilt for spacing.

Sorry if I'm saying stuff you've already looked into.

Yeah, I've messed with jump art's slide but I've only messed with u-tilt+sliding. F-tilt is something I'll look into though. Thaaanks.

Also, jump doesn't nerf ground speed :p You can cover a lot of area with a high jump then FF F-air but idk. That's just how it looks. I guess. I still need to apply it more and confirm if I'm just seeing things. I guess

I thought his run/walk speed was slower in jump. Hmm... I guess I'm just seeing things because of the increased airspeed. I see what you're saying with the hitboxes and I guess you could use jump to wall people out with rising NAir/ff-FAir. If I understand correctly, jump is primarily used as a combo/edge guarding offensive art or recovery. Thinking of it as a walling art might be interesting.

Also, doing foxtrot/dash dancing stuff in speed (and I guess in other modes) could be stuff too. I do it a lot as fsmash the character.

Oh, and I'm walking to work now, so I can't test... But sliding dtilt>stuff might be something. I saw dtilt>grab in speed is a thing, but sliding dtilt>utilt in jump would be awesome.

Completely unrelated but Monado art dash cancelling allows you to do a sliding f-smash. Short slide but hey, with that range, it seems long. About jump art, it's the best art to use to exploit Shulk's lag to your advantage. His attacks are generally slow your you can use that to wall out your opponent. With the fast fall speed of jump art, you can make FF f-air look like a giant wall.
