I figured you knew by now! Yes, I am very big into Dark Souls, though admittedly I vastly prefer Demon's to either of them.

I've known for quite some time, but I don't think we'd conversed about this topic so I figured I might as well bring it up!

Yes, I must agree with you. Atmosphere in Demon's Souls was probably my favorite thing. Something that Dark Souls I/II didn't manage to captivate me with unfortunately.

Yep, atmosphere is it, but also there are a lot of things that are mechanically superior in Demon's Souls, plus the art direction, music, enemies, online, everything, it's a blast that I've played through about seven times. Whereas I've beat Dark Souls twice and Dark Souls 2 about five times.

Seven times? Mighty impressive friend, I've only gone through DeS about three times. I've gone through DaS at least five times and I have not beaten DaS II at all. I'm too lazy to want to beat it, so I just play the DLC areas instead haha.

But yus, I agree with your various points about Demon's Souls! I don't recall playing PvP too often unfortunately, but there's just too many good memories I've had with that game.

I'm sure you're aware of Bloodborne right?
What are your current impressions of the game?
Kenith
Kenith
HYPEEEEEE. It's the game Dark Souls 2 should have been.
If only I had a Ps4.

Well Bloodborne does have Miyazaki returning as Director, so maybe that's a factor? So far, I LOVE the scenery they've presented so far. Even Anor Londo pales in comparison to the new city (don't know the name of it)

And there's the "randomly generated" dungeon too.
Kenith
Kenith
I know Miyazaki is directing, that's what I meant. :p
And yes, I agree that Y'harnam is beautiful, although I wish it were a bit brighter.
It's funny, I couldn't remember the city's name either, I only saw it one time. Yet my first guess was "Y'harnal". Photographic memory?
Jae
Jae
Gotcha :D
That may just happen, or we can always adjust the gamma ourselves. Though, that will obviously affect the rest of the game locations.

Most likely photographic memory xD

Do you recall seeing pre-release Dark Souls II? The game was a lot 'darker' then. As in, areas actually required you use torches to traverse the dark. Shame that isn't the case in the release version :/

I really would prefer if I didn't have to constantly switch my TV settings for one game. Hopefully it won't be an issue, though. The framerate, though...
Also, yes. I know about that. Beta DS2 makes the finished product look like butt.

I think DS2 is my least favorite (which I hold with high regard anyways) of the three. Demon's being the first and naturally Dark being the second. When I play DSII, I miss everything else in DSI. I loved the lore of Dark Souls so much more than II's.
