And yeah, I was really happy to see a Blue Charizard as a palette swap. The "Blue Team" one in Brawl wasn't actually blue, so it wasn't as satisfying to me. I mean, I still liked it, but pink ≠ blue.

Yep, definitely. I've been playing Charizard in Project M (basically a collective modification of everything in Brawl using an SD card) and their blue Charizard is simply amazing. I never used Pokemon Trainer in Brawl as I didn't like the mechanic, but Charizard is now my solid secondary. Pikachu's always been my main though.

Pikachu, eh? I used to play as him all the time. I kinda stopped after a while, but I might go back to him in Smash 4. Since he was one of the playable characters in the demo, it gave me a chance to get used to him again. I also played as Villager quite a lot.

Definitely try him out and see how you like him. He's always fun to play, so check him out for a while.

What other characters do you like to use? Any newcomers in particular that you wanna try out in SSB4?

I'm looking to try out Robin, Duck Hunt (DHD), and Lucina. They all look really nice, but DHD looks the most promising I think overall.

I'm gonna try out DHD as well. I like how his alts are based off of real dog breeds, such as a Dalmatian. And overall, he seems pretty fun to play as. He's probably going to be one of my mains. I know that there are some people out there who really dislike the idea of DHD being playable in SSB4, but I know I'm not one of them.

Nice nice! Yeah, I'm really liking how he looks now. His alt costumes really are amazing. And the people who dislike that idea are just silly.

Most of the dislike comes from the fact that he was put in instead of a lot of other characters people wanted (Ridley, Mewtwo, etc) but what they don't see is that DHD can be just as fun.

Yeah... I see what you mean. And besides, as much as I would like Mewtwo to return, I can always go back to Melee whenever I feel the urge to play as him. As for Ridley, I would be happy to see him join the battle (although I've never played a single Metroid game), but I didn't expect it to actually happen.

Yeah. Mewtwo is in Project M, too, so it's not like he's completely gone from the post-Melee era. I actually supported Ridley too, but understood that he just wasn't put in, for whatever reason there was. I've also never played a Metroid game but I did read the wiki some.

I still like the roster, although Dark Pit could have been a different character imo and instead be an alt costume of Pit .

Yeah, Dark Pit and Dr. Mario seemed like perfect choices for alt costumes... At first. Then I remembered what Sakurai said about Lucina, that she earned a roster slot due to a slight difference in abilities. I remembered that Dr. Mario in Melee wasn't exactly the same as Mario, and figured the same thing would apply to Dark Pit here. So now I'm perfectly fine with them being their own fighters.

Yeah, I remember hearing about that too, but people who played Pit and Dark Pit in the Japan demo say they play exactly the same, which isn't true for the other two. I think they said the only variations are purely aesthetic, so basically it's the exact same moves with different looking visuals. I don't think that's too far of a possibility away from an alt costume, having the same moves but different animations.

According to SmashWiki, "Dark Pit is stronger than Pit, but has less launch capabilities".

Ahhh, I see then :O I didn't read the wiki on it. Thanks for bringing me up to date on this. As long as there are real differences like that, I can see him as a separate character.
