Hm? What did I do that made you upset?
Opossum

Not "upset," persay...but those two posts you liked back on page 60-or-so of the Chrom thread? :p
False Sense
False Sense
Oh, that. I'm afraid I have a habit of liking posts I find funny. That includes things I find funny in retrospect.
Opossum

It's all good. :p I just kinda felt the sting a bit when I saw what posts they were, haha.

I can imagine. You Chrom supporters had absolute confidence in your character being in Smash, didn't you all? Being proven wrong after essentially proclaiming your character as inevitable must have come as a brutal shock.

I realize that must be hard, but I will say again that you all were setting yourselves up for such disappointment.
Opossum

In retrospect it's easy to say that. On the other hand though, could you blame us? The leak looked infallible (I still think we're getting Shulk and the Chorus Kids, personally). But I guess we were right...ANYTHING can change...

...if anything, this told me never to deal in absolutes. The only thing newcomer-wise I'm sure of is a Rhythm Heaven character at this point, if only for the Sneaky Spirit...
False Sense
False Sense
Of course it's easier to say in retrospect. But I, as did many Robin supporters, said time and time again that the leak was outdated and inaccurate, and could potentially be wrong; the future wasn't set in stone, and anything could change. No one really listened to us, though... We were in "denial," so nothing we said was valid.

As harsh as this may sound, by not realizing that there are no absolutes or "shoo-ins", including Chrom, you all were setting yourselves up for a crushing disappointment. I'm sorry that you didn't get the character you wanted, especially after you were so sure that you would, but the truth is that you should have realized that he may not get in.

Just for the record, though, I do not enjoy making you feel bad. I apologize if any of my actions made you feel that way.

I've been meaning to ask you, how have you been holding up lately? It seems like things haven't been going too well for you, what with three characters you really liked (Chrom, Chorus Men, and Ice Climbers) not making it onto the roster. Are you doing all right?
Opossum
Opossum
I'm doing okay, haha. Honestly, as much as I'd have loved playing as Chrom or the Chorus Kids (both of which I do still think were in the cards at SOME point, but didn't work out), I am outright angry at what happened with the Ice Climbers, just due to the perceived unfairness. :p But hey, DLC movement and all. :D
Opossum
Opossum
Likewise, how have you been? I understand you also supported the big three, so to speak. Interested in joining the movement?
False Sense
False Sense
Yeah, sorry about the Ice Climbers. I was never a huge fan of them, but I hate cuts in general just because I know that there are those that really love those characters. Any character that gets on the roster will develop a fan base, and likewise, if that character is removed, some people will inevitably be hurt, and that's truly unfortunate.

As for me, I'm doing surprisingly well. I got over the big three not making it in in about five minutes, honestly. Sure, they were my most wanted, but we got a lot of other characters I really wanted as well, including Robin, so I'm quite satisfied.

As for DLC, I'm actually a member of that All-Star group already; I don't frequently post in it, but I do fully support the inclusion of those characters on the roster.

You know, with me, and why I took and am taking the Ice Climbers roughly, basically comes down to this. If I never got the chance to play as them (Chrom, K. Rool, Chorus Kids, etc) it hurts less. But when I lose one of my mains, well...ouch. :p

Ah, okay. I didn't realize you were a member of the group, haha. Glad you're taking it well. :)
False Sense
False Sense
Yep, that's why I hate cuts. It's one thing for a character to not make it in; it's another thing entirely when a character gets in, builds a following, and gets cut. That hurts.

And I'm not really sure how likely the whole DLC or Wii U cross-connectivity stuff if, but I am in full support of it. Those are characters that, I think, should be on the roster, after all.
Opossum
Opossum
Another old like I see. ;)

And yeah, that's my stance on cuts as well. And yeah, the movement may not be THE most likely thing to happen, but hey, no harm in trying. :p

Well, I happened to see that post, and it represented a mindset I completely agree with (if my status wasn't enough indication). Naturally, I liked it.

And really, even if the movement fails to actually get the characters in the game, it's still good for spreading awareness, increasing morale, and possibly getting Sakurai to realize how much people want those characters. That alone is reason enough to at least try.
Opossum
Opossum
Exactly. Even if the benefits aren't immediate, the latent benefits would make it all worth it, honestly.
