I suppose it depends on the remaining trailers. For all we know, one of the "remaining trailers" could be the opening sequence of the game, just like Melee. This would enable them to reveal the characters without an entire trailer dedicated to specific characters. Ghirahim would most likely get a Legend of Zelda trailer in the same vein as Greninja's Pokemon trailer.

At that point, that leaves only four newcomers without trailers. It is not that difficult to fathom as we MIGHT have secret newcomers. However, if you presume that we will know all of the newcomers prior to release; one could be a double reveal, possibly Ridley and King K. Rool.

Sakurai may have asserted that we are nearing the bottom. However, that is not necessarily indicative of the remaining trailers, we might have more than two. I would not speculate much more than four, but it is certainly possible.

Remember Wii Fit Trainer or Villager's reveal trailers? They were about a minute, maybe even less. I could see Shulk and Takamaru receiving similar treatment as they are new series and therefore they do not have any characters to introduce their trailers. The quality of trailers has differed drastically, so it is impossible to determine the amount of characters that we might get.

Regardless, I would not ponder on it deeply, Kenith, as your speculation is quite reasonable. It will be easier to determine after we see another trailer as they have gotten progressively more intricate as time progresses. We just had a double reveal within the same series, if precedent serves to indicate anything, we might receive a double reveal of unrelated characters shortly.

One must consider outside influences such as the cost of the trailers, or the diversity that Sakurai wishes to obtain through art-styles... Although we started with a lot of "single" reveals, we have gotten more and more cost efficient hype-inducing reveals closer to release. I apologize that I could not be more helpful.

Actually, these are pretty much the answers I was looking for, and more. I think the best case scenario is four trailers introducing all of these fighters. If we get a new trailer this week, that leaves one less reveal in the way for the August Nintendo Direct. Perhaps there will be another Direct in early September that is Smash-focused, this could allow for multiple reveals.

Ideally, King K Rool could be revealed together in a similar fashion to the Fire Emblem newcomers, where King K Rool is the main focus, with Dixie appearing halfway through the gameplay segment. Ghirahim and Ganondorf would be revealed together like the Pokemon trailer.

Takamaru and Shulk would be revealed together, as they are somewhat antithetical in a "Past vs. Future" sense, the former a samurai from an obscure, old Famicom game set in feudal Japan, the latter a swordsman in a new, growing franchise set in a futuristic universe.
