I've lost two friends to suicide, that stuff naturally scares me quite a bit.

Yeah, one of them was a friend on Smashboards. Well, supposedly. We were told he committed suicide, but I'm not sure. The other was kind of my friend, and I only discovered he did it over the summer recently, when I asked somebody if they knew which school he went to now.

It gets worse. A kid on my little brother's bus last year supposedly killed himself/was killed in an accident. And my brother sat next to him. He was at most 8 or 9 years old. The world's a scary place.

It's actually kind of weird, I live in Appleton/Menasha, WI, which isn't a very bad neighborhood. Usually, it's Milwaukee and Madison which have the gang violence and murder and stuff. I'm not sure why it's suddenly so violent around here.

The anti-suicide programs have gotten a lot bigger, and there's a lot of prevented suicides counted since then. If anything, the biggest problem might be drugs. I'm fairly certain at least 4-5 people I know are or have been stoned during the school day.
