Karate chops and palm strikes are ****. They actively make your strikes worse by using your weaker parts of the hand, and you are likely to hurt yourself more when chopping. A double handed axe strike is essentially just balling up your hands together and using the most telegraphed strike in the world, so it is ineffective. Just use punches and elbows, being fancy will only hurt you. Also, don't try to poke people in the eyes or choke someone via a front choke. If you poke eyes, people will bite and take fingers. Front chokes are just ****ty in general and have a billion reasons why they are ****. The best part of fists is that they leave you balanced and are easier to recover from, but fists lack both power and range.

Kicks have more range and power, and there is a reason why only boxers duck right next to the opponent (do that in a real fight and your gonna get kneed and killed). Some of the most effective moves in martial arts are, you guessed it, kicks. The axe kick is a monster of a strike that is difficult to defend against, and hits like a damn truck. Kicks are also way better at conditioning or hurting someone without putting yourself in a lot of danger. If you try to punch, you inherently leave your upperbody less guarded. Kicks allow you to attack at range without exposing yourself, since your arms are there to defend your upperbody. Sure kicks are slower, but unless you wanna blitz your opponent, it doesn't mean very much.

If you wanna fight dirty, stomping somebody is probably the best thing you can do. It WILL end the fight. If you feel especially cruel, a curbstomp will ****ing murder a person.

So tl; dr punches are easier to use but less effective and less versatile in a genuine fight between 2 competent fighters.
