BOTW and TOTK are real Zelda games. They aren't traditional Zelda games, but to say they aren't real Zelda games would be like saying Halo Wars isn't a real Halo game, or Dragon Quest Treasures isn't a real Dragon Quest game.

And seeing as how BOTW and TOTK are wild successes, I doubt we will see a return to traditional Zelda until BOTW and TOTK-esque titles stop raking in money (they won't)

However, I will say that there is distinction in Zelda fans and TOTK/BOTW fans. Saying this as someone who doesn't like traditional Zelda but adores BOTW.
