The Definitive Lloyd Irving Thread - fall down seven times, stand up eight (Mii costume confirmed)

Welp, I knew Lloyd was dead since the Tales or Arise annoucement. I argued a lot about the marketing climate between Nintendo and Tales of. So at least I'm not really disapointed. But I wish it had happened sooner. I'd be a liar if I'd say I didn't have at least a faint hope. Oh well. Almost 20...

The Definitive Lloyd Irving Thread - fall down seven times, stand up eight (Mii costume confirmed)

This is our only consolation : Tales of is too big for being continualy avoided. One day or another, we'll get a Tales of rep in Smash. Probably Lloyd or a promotionnal pick. But for Ultimate...

The Definitive Lloyd Irving Thread - fall down seven times, stand up eight (Mii costume confirmed)

We got a ton of Final Fantasy games on Switch, including FFVII, VIII, IX, X-X2, XII etc... Even Dragon Quest got some IOS ports for the I;II; III game (and still have news games, like DQ XI ; XII, and the 2D-HD remake of III). Even freaking YS and Star Ocean have multiple games on Switch. Plus...

The Definitive Lloyd Irving Thread - fall down seven times, stand up eight (Mii costume confirmed)

You know, it still baffles me how the Switch has almost no Tales of games. Tales of is almost a religion in Japan, and had sereval games on Nintendo Hardwares, even exclusivities. Why in the world, the Nintendo Switch, (in)famous for it's great number of ports and remakes have only one freaking...

Persona 5 Strikers was also already planned to Switch at the moment of Joker reveal. Terry and the others have also their release coincide with other releases on Switch, with only Sephiroth and Banjo being the exceptions (Sephiroth being released around Christmas and being a massive popular...

That's the reason why I froze during the Sephiroth trailer. When I saw Galeem being slashed by a single sword hit, I immediatly thought of Lloyd with the eternal sword. But the first seconds of One Winged Angel took my brain by surprise.

Actually, every time I ask or see discussion about favorite Tales character, I always see Luke's name coming up. In my case, I wasn't surprise. If we ask me to bet for a character who could top Yuri's popularity, I would have said Luke hand's down. Also, he's my favorite protagonist of Tales of...

The Definitive Lloyd Irving Thread - fall down seven times, stand up eight (Mii costume confirmed)

Huh interresting, Lloyd got Third on the popularity poll of the Tales of Festival. And Yuri got second, not first. (english subtitles available by the way, that's really cool) I often read here and there some argument which can be sum up by "Lloyd is not popular among tales of fans, he's only...

The Definitive Lloyd Irving Thread - fall down seven times, stand up eight (Mii costume confirmed)

Hey, don't make me say things. We are a lot of people agreeing that this "issue" is utterly BS. I'm always arguing in the french forums/FB why this "issue" is ridiculous, mainly by reminding people how many video game character wield a sword, and shutting down their chances and limiting their...

The Definitive Lloyd Irving Thread - fall down seven times, stand up eight (Mii costume confirmed)

I guess the "sword fighter" issue is actually not an issue, as long as Nintendo think the characters of the FP will sell and has a fanbase. Since Byleth's release, I was afraid that sakurai truly acknowledges the "too many swordfighters" argument and strived to not implement too many of them...

Omfg... Lloyd won't just freaking die. I know he can still be the next Mii costume to be released but... wow. Please Sakurai, don't do me the Isaac thing again. I don't want to wait last minute of info to finally learn he's disconfirmed.

The Definitive Lloyd Irving Thread - fall down seven times, stand up eight (Mii costume confirmed)

Well, I was very pessimistic for Lloyd since the announce of Tales of Arise and the currently dead actuality between Tales and Nintendo, then Sakurai acknowledged the "too many swords" arguments... and then Sakurai took the risk to add another one (while choosing the most popular of all...

Wow, we did have the same ideas overall. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought about that, it raises the chances that Sakurai could have the same ideas. I like the idea of having Shield + B input to swap his S/T mode, it wouldn't take the place of a special move and it would be easier to...

It is. Plus this tracks came originally from the first Tales of (Phantasia) on the SNES, I don't see Sakurai overlook this track. And I hope so, it's my favorite from all Tales of battle theme. Anyway, lately I was thinking of how Lloyd would translate the Tales of (especially Symphonia's)...
