For me it would be Luigi. Though as I said in a post before, I tend to switch mains a lot, mostly between DK-Yoshi-Luigi-Jigglypuff.

Link is definitely the worst IMO. He's like the character that I've had less trouble to play against specially since Dream Land is now the only available stage in competitive play. Luigi at least has a much better recovery, and can KO lightweights at low %.

I got my copy of Smash 64 for $25 (400 MXN) thanks to a friend. But normally they sell it for around $50-$60 USD where I live. I have seen that they use the 19XXTE hack a lot so I guess they do.

If only Yoshi's Island was the same as the 1P Mode stage (the one with no clouds) it could be perfectly legal, but that's only my opinion... Peach's Castle used to be a counterpick stage AFAIK. But if I were to host a tournament or something, I would put Hyrule as a counterpick stage too along...

I like to play as :dk64: because he's the heaviest, somewhat hard to KO both horizontally and vertically, and his combos are fun to perform in Dream Land. I main :jigglypuff64: too due to her good air speed (like Yoshi) and rest combos. She's my best character against Pika and most of the cast...

I've had fun lately with DK's dash attack. Albeit slow (I think the slowest and laggiest of all), it can stop a Falcon Kick and still gives you time for a grab -> throw. Also for mindgames with fast-fallers -> chasing -> grab (or another dash -> chase -> grab). But still a very risky move, tho.

You mean the program? VirtualBox is good and user-friendly, with XP as the virtualized OS.

You can run Pj64k on a VM (preferably XP), install wined3d for 3D support, and use Glide64 plugin. You can use your GC adapter inside it. In fact, that's what I use for all Smash Bros. netplay because I run Ubuntu 16.04. Sadly, I don't think there are other easy alternatives on Linux. Mupen64++...

Completely forgot about Kirby and Puff, my bad. I think Kirby is the hardest matchup though.

Hey, your name sounds familiar, but I think you're not the person I know... hmm maybe. Anyway, Yoshi is a really fun character to play, and he has a lot of unique properties: different shield, one large jump, no "helpless" state, parrying (I only use this one accidentally). Flutter also helps...

My only complain about this list is Fox being in his own tier. I don't think he's that far from Falco or the whole S tier. But other than that I agree with the list.
