    Based on Smash 4, I really like Samus vs projectile and sword characters (except maybe DHD and Pacman since their item projectiles clank with CS). She's also a super comfortable pick vs players of a lower skill level--CS makes people play badly and she has a simple and very effective flowchart advantage state. I would guess most of this is still true in Ultimate. As far as top tier MUs go in this game, I'm guessing she loses to Palutena and Wolf for sure, then maybe Fox, Greninja, ZSS, Joker, and Wario but I'm less sure about those. She does reasonably well vs the others, as far as vs some typically difficult characters, she probably goes even (or in a few cases wins) vs Peach, Pikachu, Luigi, Ness, Snake, FE characters, Shulk, and maybe ROB. There's a user named Dungeonmaster on here who's a great resource for Samus and he could probably give a better idea of her Ultimate MUs. Quik is also like ten subs away from making a MU chart; I might post it in CCI when he does.

    Idk if her being a sleeper top tier is particularly likely--I just think it's possible, since her last round of buffs feel like some S4 Mewtwo type buffs to an already maybe high tier character.

    Seems like her Game and Watch matchup is pretty bad, right? Bucket, edgeguarding, and juggling seems pretty strong against her weak airdodge (57 frame neutral airdodge iirc) and disregards down-b mixups with up-air.

    Yes, I remembered this after I posted that the other day. It was a bad MU in Smash 4 as well. She gets out advantaged hard by gnw, out ledge trapped, edge guarded, juggled, everything. Samus's advantage state is great, but gnw's is just unbelievable. Zair is probably her strongest point in the MU.

    Yeah, I have no real strategic purpose for using Roy in terms of covering MUs or anything, I just like his speed, movement, low fafs, combos, etc.

    No I actually still play way more Samus than Zero Suit but I changed my character thing to that when I was picking her her up and playing more Zamus than Samus. I should probably change it back

    Thanks, though I really wish some of the Samus boards people would post in Competitive Impressions. They are all so knowledgeable. Also I've been posting less about her just because I really don't know what to think of Samus right now lol. But she certainly has a lot to work with.

    I agree.

    Although, I can sympathize with them not being around or not posting in that thread. I'm in some Discords for low tiers (like Jiggs, Roy, Shulk, Falco, etc) and they talk about how they won't bother with the thread nobody in their truly wants to take the time to learn about their character. It's sad tbh.
