Official 'Item Standard Play' Thread (UPDATE 1/15: MAJOR TX TOURNEY INFO)

Im not 100% sure Stars, Spicy Curry and Hammers should stay. From what I see the same scenario happens everytime one of these items gets picked up it becomes a rather boring game of keep away. Something that just eats time is not very exciting to watch nor does it require much imagination of the...

Official 'Item Standard Play' Thread (UPDATE 1/15: MAJOR TX TOURNEY INFO)

Maybe we could called the variation of rules "Jack Rules" or "Paradox rules" that could be added to a tournament anouncment to let everyone know how it would run.:bee:

Official 'Item Standard Play' Thread (UPDATE 1/15: MAJOR TX TOURNEY INFO)

I think the "big" item like the Sand Bag or Crate may help. At the very leats I know they absorb a few laser bolts, so if it pops up in between a laser lock you can escape. I am not sure if it also absorbs A locks or disrupts spacing in Chain grabs. Either way I think Wall stages should be...

Official 'Item Standard Play' Thread (UPDATE 1/15: MAJOR TX TOURNEY INFO)

You already know I support this idea since you linked me to this in my thread. Just thought I would add another name to the list of supporters.:)

    A "Hypothetical" Tourney Item List

Man lots of posts since I last checked. Unfortuntatly they are delving into the same song and dance of all the other threads. So Ill repost a few points people seem to be missing. This thread is not about ifr items should or should not be in major tournaments. I don't decide it and posting in...

    A "Hypothetical" Tourney Item List

Your pationate about the subject sffadsad and I appreciate your support for giving change a chance. However, I think you may be being a little too over the top with the accusations and declarations. The Capcom super system and the Smash super system are very different animals. While the Capcom...

    A "Hypothetical" Tourney Item List

I know you are firmly set in you items are unbalanced view, I disagree with a few of your opinions, but I respect it. However, the fact that several members have provided input and postive feedback in this very thread, as well as the this topic emerging over and over again on the boards (Though...

    A "Hypothetical" Tourney Item List

Going crazy with the alphabet put aside, you did a good job explaining your view. Im happy you acknowleged the equal chance for items appearing next to someone so your concern seems to come down to frequancy of aquiring items between players. Personally I feel it will come down to skill and...

    A "Hypothetical" Tourney Item List

Personally I agree with Sonic Wave on Final Smash only tournaments. If smash balls are on by themselves then any risk from using a final smash is negated by the frequancy they appear, making Final Smash camping and running a viable and irritating strategy that retracts from the game. Either...

    A "Hypothetical" Tourney Item List

In my experiance of participating and help running tournaments (Though surprisingly I don't remember it happening to any smash events I have gone too) there are people out there that will whine about almost anything. As for the competive item list, we won't know till we give it a try.:bee:

Best idea for a stage ever.

This is hillariously brilliant. Being able to make "minigame" stages looks like alot of fun.:chuckle:

    A "Hypothetical" Tourney Item List

Gustav Wind I would say it is a two part answer. The mechanics of items are intended to be humogious in the same way the aspects of shielding or jumping are. While I can't create any unbiased argument on fun factor since it is defined by on an individual basis, I can argue that the mechanics...

    A "Hypothetical" Tourney Item List

Thanks for the info thesage. Im surprised to hear the Ray gun got such a big biff, but now that it has happened, what can ya do. However I am pleased to hear the rapid fire aspect of the scope is easier to avoid (which honestly was always more anouying than the charge shots) I throw my vote in...

    A "Hypothetical" Tourney Item List

I think we are just going to have to leave it at agree to disagree or we will end up talking in circles for the rest of the thread. You think items are too unbalanaced and I think it depends on the item and its application once aquired. Thats been established and I think thats as far as this...
