I'm glad Bowser Jr. made it in the end. As a character in the Mario universe I didn't really think much of him, but as a fighter in Smash I love his playstyle.

Playing as Bowser Jr. I have the most trouble against fast characters that can rush me down and juggle me. Most notably ZSS, Mario, and Sheik. I also use the Cart as an approach a lot of the time so anyone that can throw out a projectile that stops my Cart momentum throws me off.

I feel like most of my kills with Bowser Jr. come from bairs, fairs, and up airs. If I'm playing against someone who likes to roll I'll usually try to time a down smash for the kill.

When I use dair out of side b I usually try to land it behind my opponent so that it can't be punished as easily if shielded. A couple of times I have faced players who aren't aware how long it stays out and they have let up their shield early when under pressure.

After hitstun, if you try it out yourself in training with the mechakoopa trick it should make sense.

Sometimes I'll ride the kart off the edge and forget that I can to jump out of the move to stop it. Instead I'll desperately hit the circle pad back towards the stage and then just spin out to my death. Had a couple SD's so far that way. Besides that I had some deaths where I was attacked...

I'm still not sure who I'm going to main with the game being so new, but I will say that Bowser Jr. is insanely fun to play. I've settled on Iggy as my preferred koopaling.

I find myself using the down tilt if I anticipate someone is going to try and roll into me since it stays out longer. I'll throw out a forward tilt as more of a quick punish if my opponent has some ending lag on a move. Between the two I tend to use the down tilt more frequently.
