Zelda, Daisy, Peach, Meta Knight, and Wario have Mii headgear. Link, Isabelle, Inkling, K.Rool, Chrom, Samus, Fox, Captain Falcon, Mario have full Mii costumes. I'd confidently lean that Mii costumes mean nothing.
