    Rest Setups

As I was writing this, it kind of deviated from being just a list of Puff rest setups into more of a mixed list of setups + stuff Puff can punish with rest, but here it is anyway General (works on everyone, or at least a majority of the cast): Jab reset->rest Read roll->rest - Not technically...

Options out of Up Throw at Low Percent

    a) Careful, up-throw rest is not actually guaranteed on Falcon!! He's slightly too heavy to actually make it a true combo. However, you can usually get the rest anyway because a lot of people will react by panic jumping which puts Falcon in a spot where his only option is to dair (which you can...

Options out of Up Throw at Low Percent

Yeah that's a fair point, I guess I'm just used to the people I play regularly missing the DI the second time, probably because they expect the tech trap rest rather than a regrab. But still at least at that point, that situation usually ends in your favor no matter how they DI anyway!

Options out of Up Throw at Low Percent

On the SHFFL up-air->regrab? Yes, if you miss the L-cancel then you won't have enough time for the regrab into rest. If the first grab is at 0%, to be honest I forget if they'll be out of stun by the time they hit the ground and can act, or if they can only tech roll away. The idea that the...

Options out of Up Throw at Low Percent

Pretty much the only option people go for in this situation is up-throw->SHFFL up-air->regrab->up-throw->rest, since the up-throw and up-air will almost always put spacies at a high enough percent for rest to KO (unless it sends them the wrong way and they have good DI). Unless they have perfect...

    Jigglypuff vs Marth Matchup Help

Puff main here, but I usually go Marth against Puff because pretty much everyone agrees Puff dittos are the worst MU ever, so I can talk about the MU from both sides. One of the things I hate the most about Puff is the fact that it's essentially impossible to edgeguard her like how you would...

Technical Machine No. 44 - a SSBM Jigglypuff Combo Video and Real-Time Guide

lol yeah I would imagine it'd be much harder to get that in a high profile game, since I doubt anyone would be jumping within grab range of Puff on the windmill rather than just hitting her from underneath. But I'm sure it'll eventually one day...

Technical Machine No. 44 - a SSBM Jigglypuff Combo Video and Real-Time Guide

It was on the secondary stream, MeleeEveryday, I'm pretty sure since it was during pools. Don't remember when exactly during the stream it was, but if the vods are up I'll look around for it when I get home from work because it was sick (he got that, and then the set winning rest like a few...

Technical Machine No. 44 - a SSBM Jigglypuff Combo Video and Real-Time Guide

Hbox pulled off the Windmill rest setup in doubles at Smash n Splash, it was insane! Makes me wonder how many notes he took from this video if he saw it. ;)

    Help Surviving Sheik's D-Throw to Up-Air

Sheik's d-throw->fair is guaranteed on Puff at around 100% and above I'm pretty sure too, so don't feel bad about dying to it there at that point. Easier said than done, but you're better off just not getting grabbed in the first place, since Sheik is just good at getting followups from her...

    rest fox's up air

Just to be a little more clear, in order for it to work Fox has to be late on his jump so that when he goes for the up-air, he'll be overlapping with you (and vulnerable to a rest) rather than hitting you with the tip of his feet. You basically just have to go off of this by visual cues, which...

What to do in the sheik and Falco matchup

Falco's dair will actually trade with Puff's up-air, and at low and mid percents Puff can break out of hitstun early enough to jump and catch Falco with a rest. So up-air spamming when Falco is above you is a good strategy for both of these reasons, since most things will lead to some sort of...

Guide In my opinion, puff vs shiek and puff vs marth

Yeah platforms are helpful for Puff to reset jumps and stuff, but I think it's still very possible for Marth to wall you out even on a platform and is more than happy to do so. Marth's best position is at center stage, so if he knows what he's doing he'll just throw rising fairs or up-tilts at...

    Jigglypuff Help Needed

I don't really see too much of an issue with it if your computer doesn't lag when it runs 20xx. If you're practicing with the keyboard then it might be a little weird applying your practice to a GC controller, so if you're worried about that then I'd just go the console route. But yeah, the SD...
