Those characters were never really finished. They cannot be used. What, do you think the developers would have made a character, then taken him out, after FINISHING him, for no reason? That just doesn't happen.

There are actually no video files. The replays are actually just instructions that the game uses to act out your match. Unfortunately, this means the videos cannot be transfered to any computer video program.

Not really. There has been a recent spike of casual players here, but this is still a largely competitive board. As long as there is no better place for competitive players to gather and discuss the game, Smashboards is where they will go. I don't see this changing anytime soon.

We're still playing Melee, and we've known everything about it for years. Knowledge of the game does not lower our excitement or fun.

Most of Smashboards plays competitively. You obviously don't. Get over it. There is nothing wrong with the way we play, and you don't have to be part of it if you don't want to.

I would like to avoid spoilers entirely once the game comes out in Japan. However, I'm the president of a video game club that mostly plays SSBM. There's no way I'll ever manage to keep all the spoilers away from me, so I'll be reading them here myself.

No you can't. If you freeze the frame, you can clearly see that this "slide" is actually a very short hop backward. It's a dodge, not a wavedash.

There are 290, not counting the unobtainable ones. I have all of them, so I do know this for sure.
