    Q&A The 'Mains' Advice Thread

Ryu is very technical and requires a lot of commitment and dedication. I think Cloud is way too new to claim him as a proper main, but Villager seems to be a very nice fit. The idea of how to play Villager is simple enough, and he is certainly viable. If you really think think he's fun, you love...

    Q&A The 'Mains' Advice Thread

Tiers DO matter. Putting in the same amount of work in Zelda and Sheik will not garner equal results. However, there is no point in winning with a character you are not as invested in. If you really don't know who you're best with, just pick the ones you like the most. Little things like better...

    Q&A The 'Mains' Advice Thread

You didn't leave enough information for me to give my best response, but I would recommend Lucario and Zelda for personal bias. If you're asking who the best ones to use are, that would be Sheik and Lucario.

    Q&A The 'Mains' Advice Thread

Reading this I could suggest a lot of characters for a lot of reasons. :4olimar:is defensive, and his Pikimin "chips" away at your opponents. I don't know what you mean by weird spacing, but :4myfriends: and :4shulk:have huge swords. Patient minds with a good sense of spacing benefit them...

    Q&A The 'Mains' Advice Thread

:4rob: and :4wiifit: immediately come to mind. :4rob: isn't as stylish, and :4wiifit: isn't as viable (mid-tier-ish imo), but I think both are good choices. :4rob:has combos (mainly dthrow to uair), a spike (dair), zoning projectiles (lasers and gyro), and can edgeguard well with gyro setups at...

    Q&A The 'Mains' Advice Thread

Diddy and Peach have been suggested, and they're good suggestions, but I might add Toon Link and Mega Man to the list. While they are defensive, they are also very mobile. A part of their play is keeping opponents out, but its also subtly pressuring with your items and hit-and-run tactics. Both...

    Q&A The 'Mains' Advice Thread

I think three is a fine number, just try not to go higher. In my opinion Link is mid-tier, Mewtwo is bottom 10 (Japan thinks a little higher of him), and Pit is borderline/ high tier. So your strategy of switching to a pocket Pit is a good one, as he has little bad match-ups, and many even ones...

    Q&A The 'Mains' Advice Thread

Bowser Jr. is definitely a character that would warrant a secondary. And It is not uncommon for people who main solo-viable characters to play others as well, so by all means, play another character if you like :) Just remember, the more characters you play, the harder it will be if you're...

Why do you use Dark Pit?

The sounds he makes when he gets hit is less annoying than Pit's, his victory screen animations, alts, and victory theme are all better. I'm fine with different arrows and side-b even though they are objectively worse. I'm just salty about f-tilt really. EDIT: I'll just file this under "Because...

    Q&A The 'Mains' Advice Thread

Those are very diverse characters that don't seem to have much of a connection in playstyle. Do you have a certain playstyle you like? If not, I would recommend watching tournament videos on Youtube to see a variety of characters that you might like and go off that. If the usual high tier picks...

    Q&A The 'Mains' Advice Thread

Pikachu, Yoshi, or Sonic maybe? I don't know, you didn't give out too much information. Also, I totally get if you want to play another character, but if you love Puff I think you should stick with her in some way, shape, or form.

    Q&A The 'Mains' Advice Thread

I had a similar problem. I wanted to play so many characters. Charizard, Robin, Luinca... Until I finally realized, I don't like the fighter, I liked the character. Sure, I made it okay-ish for a while, but compared to R.O.B. (a character I really enjoyed on all fronts) they just didn't hold up...

Thank you. What you said about Pit was very helpful, and thing about Mario was informative as well. I'm not sure what I'm going to do, but this was a helpful input.

    Q&A The 'Mains' Advice Thread

Been there, done that. Right now, I'm primarily looking for a character that will help check R.O.B.'s weaknesses. Thank you for the advice, I may have given similar advice, but I don't think your answers are exactly the kind I'm looking for. (Eh. It may appear that I'm being difficult or...
