You'd have to, to play certain GG characters. Ones like Bridget are really hard to play while some like Ky Kiske are easier. Bridget happens to be a PAIN to play as and a bigger pain to play against (If the Bridget player is good).

Actual reasons: 1- Link has projectiles, many of them. Counter doesn't stop bombs! 2- Link has a better Up+B. 3- Link is heavier and harder to K.O. 4- Link has a ranged grab. 5- Link has a tether recovery. 6- Link has the Hylian Shield. 7- Link has bombs. Bombs. BOMBS. BOOOOOMBS.
