    How to beat simon

Blocking tether only works if Belmont is directly in front of the stage. Angled tether can't be blocked, whether someone is in your way or not.

    Did everyone deserted the Belmonts?

Uhh, I'm probably going to forget about your post in a few minutes or so. You didn't write anything that was relevant to the character, just a bunch of hyperbole that stems from inexperience with Belmont.

    Did everyone deserted the Belmonts?

Cross is super slow and apparently has no follow ups, according to you, and ignore how much slower Pika's jolt or Mario's fireball travels. You keep saying that they can react to Belmonts projectiles on reaction, but act like the other aformentioned projectiles have no issues of their own and...

    Did everyone deserted the Belmonts?

Of course you can react to most projectiles in the game. Why is that Belmont exclusive? Terrible FaF? Have you looked at the frame data? Cross and Holy Water has less end lag than Ness' PK fire, Marios' fireball, Palutena's projectiles, Pikachu's/Pichu's thundershock, and has less start up than...

Wanted to delete this message; couldn't find the option.

    Did everyone deserted the Belmonts?

Pretty much. The forum never has anything new, and Belmont is definitely one of the most underused and underrated characters of this game. Makes sense, I guess.

The Belmont's are not OP. Change my mind

Whomever those characters are. I'm not saying there's no one better, but I'm not really convinced there's a variety of characters that out do Belmont because of some perceived recovery issue. Especially when most of the roster's attack options simply lose to shielding when most of Belmont's...

The Belmont's are not OP. Change my mind

Lacking diversity in their moveset isn't true at all. I honestly would say he has the most options in the game, compared to majority of the roster. He has answers for almost anything in the game, the problem is that most players don't seem to know which is applicable in a given scenario. The...

How to deal with smaller or floaty characters?

Few characters can duck Ftilt, but almost none of them can duck cross. Try mixing it up. If they are trying to bait out Ftilt/Fair, you can use cross, holy water, or your dash attack, instead. Crouching Ftilt may be annoying, but they can't really run and duck particularly fast, and they have...

    High Level Players

I mean they are placing in tournaments and even placed in a major tournament. Belmonts have fantastic aerials, tilts, projectiles, and great OoS options. Although their options for getting back to the stage or on the ground are limited, the same applies for most characters, to be honest. Most...

Meta Legend of the Belmont Clan: Simon/Richter Metagame

Yes, it has invincibility frames during frame 5-6 and the attack starts at 6. I agree, it's one of Belmont's best moves. Can't stress enough how important it is to get good at using this as an OoS option. It massively alleviates the problem of people getting too close, to the point where you...

    Simon/Richter Elite Smash

From my experience with Wolf, he also ends up getting hit with cross since their projectiles go through each other. Cross travels over 3/4 of the battlefield stage quickly, which usually doesn't give wolf enough time to actually reflect the attack when trading projectiles. Usually one hit is...

Simon Frame Data Chart (rough draft)

I found that upB's attack starts on frame 6, with an invincibility frame. Maybe you didn't stand close enough to the enemy?

    Simon/Richter Elite Smash

On top of what's written above, you really want to practice up B out of shield. It has invincibility frames during frame 5-6 (start up at 6) with good horizontal range, making it one of the best "get off me" options in the game, imo. It also gives you more stage control by allowing you to set...

    Belmont Matchup Handbook

Right. I didn't expect you to add anything yet. I was saying this under the assumption that maybe you didn't mind labbing and gave you details on what to look for. I'll make a list, eventually, but I'm pretty lazy. It'll take a little while.
