There are people with that mentality in just about every game. Smash 4 probably brought more people to the scene, which is primarily a positive thing, and with the increase in players you're gonna get more with the negative attitude.

It is stupid but it's not wrong and going off on someone because they have that mentality is just as stupid.

Nothing wrong with being a scrub. How good you are at a video game means nothing in life.

I do SD matches in FG because sometimes I just get into a match and I'm off my game. I want to reset the game state and keep fighting that player, although I usually do that to players who've already been rude by some of these standards. I'm not very good at smash yet, especially not online, so...

I feel similarly to you. I live in the fort myers Florida area and there's definitely some interest here but it seems like nothing ends up working out. I would really like to try and get a scene started here but I have no idea how to do that.
