Cloud and Sephiroth need to be in this game! Who cares if they're 3rd party, we already have Sonic right?

If things really get bad, emulators will always be there too. Though a lot of people refuse to support that idea because it isn't the "real" experience.

I also enjoy Brawl the most, but most of the "hate" from Melee players is actually being directed toward the newest game now. Even so, Brawl matches are actually FASTER than smash 4 a lot of the time (in competitive play), so it being "slow" isn't much of an argument coming from the smash 4 crowd.

I don't necessarily think that Melee players hate Smash 4... I think they hate when Melee is shoved aside due to Smash 4 being played instead. They think Smash 4 is stealing the limelight.

Most likely, since the top players stream it more and they can use the "holy" GC controller. I think a lot of the dedicated players migrated to the Wii U after it came out also.

People think Kirby is OP because they don't know you can grab the down b. That's probably the main reason.

Why not? It can be played at competitions and has a decent enough following. Whether it compares to Melee is another story though...

Definitely Snake, because you have to always watch what he's doing. If you look away for just a few seconds he can really screw you over. Some people hate that, but I think it makes the game more intense and interesting.
