basically sweet spotting is easier because the recovery animations don't have to finish before the character grabs the edge. For example marth up+B will grab the edge as soon as he gets to it unlike in melee where he will go above the ledge and land on the stage or come back down to grab the ledge

I think the point isn't that they hate the idea of high gravity but more so that there hasn't been many tournies as of yet. The banning of stages didn't happen the day (or month b4 in this example)melee came out. The tournies adapted to what was the best after many many events and matches...

why didn't we play melee in lightning fast mode if we had huge erections for speed?

my guess is that you will be able to go back and forth. Anyone else find it kind of amusing that its the same d-pad combination as extended grapple :P
