Ness's up b and down b are now yoyo attacks, just so everyone knows.

Heavy Brawl as the competitive standard? EDIT: Could a pro post his/her opinion?

That depends on what balance you are referring to, as far as character balance goes it does put some characters at a natural disadvantage but that is true in regular brawl as well. I feel character balance overall for heavy is a little worse than in regular but character balance isn't the reason...

I need help finding my friend a good character...

DDD's smashes aren't that great because they are so slow and if he likes to spam them it could be bad, besides that it sounds like a good character for him. Besides that Wolf would probably be the next best choice, he has great smashes the only thing you have to worry about is recovery.

Heavy Brawl as the competitive standard? EDIT: Could a pro post his/her opinion?

I understand that agrument and see how it is valid but there are a couple things to consider with it, first off switching from normal to heavy does not take an overwhelming amount of time, it is possible as depth increases that the time to switch will increase with it. However, I feel adjusting...

    Brawl proves Evolution!

hahaha, no matter if it is evolution or natural selection or whatever. Great job, nice to see some humor on here even if it is rare.

Heavy Brawl as the competitive standard? EDIT: Could a pro post his/her opinion?

Your still thinking of camping as being specifically projectile camping that is not what camping is referring to, even without projectiles ROB would be at an advantage if snake chose to simply rush in just because his projectiles were down. Also the video is no more than an example of what...

Sakurai does not want Smash to be a competitive franchise

Basically that people should be more open minded to changing the game and not using default rules. Sakurai didn't want the game to be competitive so using the default Brawl mode just because that's how the game was designed is not a valid argument if people really want the most fair competition...

Sakurai does not want Smash to be a competitive franchise

The interview is not titled competition is the core of gameplay, that is a quote from the article. I think the problem most people have, at least me personally, is how Sakurai wants to achieve the goal, like you said he wants everyone to feel good about the game they play that is true, but he...

Mindgames : In melee vs brawl : Read the first post before responding please.

I completely agree with you, I personally feel that it is more beneficial to master multiple characters due to how matchup specific the game can be. Just for clarification I mean like 2 or 3 characters not 10. With the lack of character specific tech skills it is easier to be competitive with...

Sakurai's Genius: A Look at How a Non-Competitive Game Can Be So Much Fun

It seems like because of the lack of AT's and competitive depth that there is actually a smaller room for error, despite getting rid of comboing and gimping almost entirely. The playing field is nearly level no matter how experienced with the game you are and who ever out thinks their opponent...

Sakurai does not want Smash to be a competitive franchise

I never said people had to move onto Brawl, if people like Melee more play it, but for the people that want Brawl to evolve it could be beneficial to look at it from a new angle.

Heavy Brawl as the competitive standard? EDIT: Could a pro post his/her opinion?

It seemed like when Melee first came out there were many similar arguments, like items vs. no items, just because the community was so much smaller they weren't as public and there wasn't as many points being debated, but with any new game people will disagree the best way to play it at first it...

A New Way To Play Brawl Competitively; Team Brawl

I hope there is an emphasis on doubles even more than in Melee and that people work more in depth on team techniques, maybe even come up with some at's that are doubles specific. That might be a little wishful thinking but I don't see why it couldn't be a possibility.

Sakurai does not want Smash to be a competitive franchise

Everybody knew that Brawl would not be Melee 2.0 and it certainly is not, the differences were probably greater than most people expected. I feel like the Brawl competitive community is still holding on to Melee and not trying to develop Brawl to an extent. Things like heavy or fast Melee...
