    Q&A Falco Q&A

    Q&A Falco Q&A

I honestly don't go for utilts on Marth unless it's mid combo and if it's mid combo, I'm going for Shines up until like 60% or so. When you hit a utilt on Marth around 60-80%, you should be going for full hop or double jump into dair to combo or bair to kick him off stage. If for whatever...

    Q&A Falco Q&A

Are they shield grabbing you before your aerial, after your aerial, or after your shine?

    Q&A Falco Q&A

well, there are a lot of things at play here. like, you might not know whether the shine's going to hit and follow with sh aerial anticipating shield pressure, or you might hit very close to their center point and not know which direction to WD in immediately. but ideally you should be WDing...

Mmmk, thanks, I'll check out that interview then. Still confuses me why go Falco at all at that point, though maybe the change of pace was just helpful.

PP, there's something about Apex GF that's been bugging me soooo I'ma see if you can give me some insight. Sorry if you answered this in an interview or something already, just haven't seen the answer in here. Set 1 Game 1, lose Marth vs. Fox Game 2, lose Marth vs. Fox Game 3, win Falco vs...

    Data Falco Matchup Thread

You'd probably have better luck asking in this thread: http://smashboards.com/threads/falco-discussion-thread.256826/ I should honestly probably close this one at this point since it hasn't been updated in years.

    Q&A Falco Q&A

Basically what Oskurito said. Falco has 5 frames of jumpsquat and is airborne on the 6th, meaning that in order to effectively buffer a Shine OoS, you need to be able to react within that 6 frame window to seeing your character start his jump animation. 6 frames is 100 milliseconds which is a...

I can't think of any particular matches, but I think pretty much any PP vs. Mango Falco vs. Fox on not FD/DL will be very laser light in the neutral game from PP. Top level Foxes are just very suffocating on neutral game lasers and will punish you insanely hard.

He means tapping up on the control stick to jump rather than using X/Y to do your double jump.

it creates hit lag, so the timing on your double jump is slightly different from if you didn't hit anything, but it won't make you fall any further before you can double jump.

For whatever it's worth, I also use the same button for shield and wavedashing (L for me, but w/e). I tried learning to Wavedash OoS with shield on R, but it ended up being way less work for me to just learn it with L, as my brain was not really ok with retraining shielding with R since so many...
